Allows user to connect high impedance instrument or signal (amp, tape deck, etc.) to mixing board via low impedance (microphone type) cables or snake. Also allows more flexibility and control over the signal due to powered circuitry. Features a ground lift switch to eliminate grounding loops (which produce hum). Has -20dB or -40dB pad switch for signals that are too "hot" and distort. Is powered by 9 volt battery or power supply.
